Biography

Son of William Hoy Brush and Elizabeth M. Pomeroy.

The spelling of his name, "Breish" or "Brush," goes back and forth. Breish on his wedding announcement (1892), Brush on his son's birth announcement (1893). Breish in his obit and on his gravestone, Brush on his parent's and sibling's gravestones.

From his obit: "John Pomeroy Breish died at the home of his mother in Wyoming Tuesday morning, June 4th, 1895, in the 27th year of his age.
The deceased was born in Wayne township, August 30th, 1868, and has always been a resident of Jones county. His early years were spent in the quiet of country life, and since 1884 he has been a resident of this community. He was married Aug. 3rd, 1892, to Glenara A. Swigart, who, with one son, survive to mourn their loss. His sickness was a lingering one, full of intense suffering, from which he longed to be at rest....."

Another news article, printed, June 7, 1995: "John Breish, who married Miss Glen Swigart a few years ago, died at his home in Wyoming Tuesday of consumption. He as a young man of excellent character."
