He was gifted in art, mechanics, electronics, electro-plating and carpentry. He was a metal polisher and plater and was employed for years by the Korff Manufacturing Company. His hobby was making violins, which he played by ear. He had a perfect ear for tones and kept the family piano turned. He was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Jackson, Michigan.
