Biography

John was born about 1831 in County Armagh, Ireland. He married Mary Birney in June 1853 at Magheraculmoney, County Fermanagh, Ireland. In 1854, John Brimstone, 23, and his wife Mary, 22, arrived in New South Wales from Ireland on the ship Rodney. From New South Wales they moved on to Victoria and about 1862 they relocated to Rockhampton, Queensland where John was a publican. In Queensland the family name became known as Brinston. John died 17 August 1871 and was buried on the 19th. His death registration records his parents as John Brinston, farmer, and Jane Moran.

John Brimstone married Mary Birney in 1853 at County Fermanagh, Ireland.
John and Mary Brimstone emigrated from Ireland to New South Wales, Australia in 1854. They arrived in New South Wales 15 March 1854 on the ship 'Rodney'. John and Mary were living in Victoria, Australia from about 1856 until 1862/1863.
In 1867 John Brinston was the Publican of the Ballarat Hotel, Alma Street, Rockhampton.
John Brinston age 42, passed away 17 August 1871 at Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.
