He married Lois (Huntley) Diven,[4] probably in 1910 as she was enumerated in both his household and her ex-husband's.[5]
In late December 1919 and early January 1920, he was in the Racine, Wisconsin county Jail[6] for contempt because he did not comply with a court order to pay $75 in attorney's fees for his divorce.[7]
He was a justice of the peace[8] for more than twenty-five years.[9]
He was a member of Racine Lodge no. 18, F.&.A.M., the Knights of Pythias, and Bancroft Camp, United Spanish War Veterans,[10]
