Services for Chester C. Brooks, 62, of 2710 8 1/2 Street, Rock Island, Illinois, who died yesterday morning in Lutheran Hospital, Moline, will be at one tomorrow afternoon in Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline. Rev. Ellis Youngdahl will officiate, and burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from seven until nine this evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Brooks was born in Hillsdale, Illinois. He married Juanita Maxine Smith on 27 January 1941 in Scott County, Iowa.

He operated a sawmill for forty years in Hillsdale. He moved to Rock Island some six years ago.

Survivors are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Joan Fitzpatrick, Maquoketa, Iowa; Mrs. Rita Risden of Milan; Mrs. Alice Womack of East Moline, Mrs. Karen Graham of Moline and Miss Ruby, at home; two sons, Donald of Maquoketa and Charles, at home; 14 grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Elmer Jacobs of Erie and a brother, Homer, of Moline.

I see the U.S. Census for 1910 lists Chester Brooks parents as Frank Brooks and Gertie. The Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths 1916-1947 lists a child born and died on 24 Jan 1917, with the parents names of Frank P. Brooks and Gertie Hill. From the 1910 Census, I see Chester's father, Frank, staying with his parents (Alphonso H. & Mahala L. Brooks). In the 1930 census, Frank lists his wife as Mabel Brooks. Therefore, Chester Charles Brooks father was Frank Brooks and his mother was Gertie (Hill) Brooks. Chester Charlels Brooks step mother was Mabel Brooks.
