Françoise Irène Broutin was born on January 27, 1793 in Mobile, West Florida, New Spain, a daughter of François André Narcisse Broutin (1759–1818) and Francoise Rochon (1767–1799).
Françoise (19) married Louis Jacques Barbin (27) (born in 1784 in New Orleans, Louisiana; son of Prosper Casimir Barbin and Helene Modeste Guinault) on April 20, 1812 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Françoise (40) married Jean-Baptiste Alexis Eugene Cailleteau (31) (born about 1801 in Maubert-Fontaine Departement des Ardennes Champagne-Ardenne, France) on February 23, 1833 in Louisiana, USA.[1] Their known children were:
Françoise died on August 20, 1861 in Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, United States, aged 68.[2][3] [4]

Irène Françoise Broutin and Louis Jacques Barbin (de Bellevue), Esq. entered into a civil marriage contract on April 20, 1812. The contract, written in French, is filed with the the notarial papers of Pierre Pedesclaux, New Orleans Notarial Archives, Civil Courts Building (Vol. 64 page 223).
It indicates that Louis Jacques Barbin and Irène Françoise Broutin came from prominent families. On the same date, the sacramental marriage took place at St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans. The sacramental marriage record is in Spanish; the name given is Luis Santiago Barbin.
After moving to Avoyelles Parish in 1826, the family home was located on the northern edge of Marksville where the highway leads to Red River.
Also recorded with the Barbin family in 1830 were five slaves: two male slaves, 10-23; one female slave, 24-35; and two male slaves, 55-99.
After the death of Louis Jacques Barbin 04-Apr-1831, Françoise Irène Broutin, at the age of 40, married on 23-Feb-1833 to Jean Baptiste Alexis Eugène Cailleteau (known as Eugène). He was a native of Maubert, département des Ardennes and held the noble title of Le Seigneur de St. Prix (the Lord of Saint-Prix), which he renounced upon acquiring citizenship in Louisiana, U.S.A. (see Avoyelles Parish Courthouse records).
Also recorded in the Cailleteau household in 1850 were seven "free colored persons"- one male under 10, two females 10-20, two males 24-35, and one male 36-54-and four slaves- one male under 10, 1 male 10-23, and one male and one female 24-35.
Eugène Cailleteau died 18-Jan-1841 at the young age of 40 and was buried at the Cemetery of St. Paul des Avoyelles, Hydropolis, where he served as a Marguilier (church warden) for several years.
The Cailleteau family was recorded in the north township of Avoyelles Parish in the Sept. 19, 1850 census (Avoyelles 129B):
