Hugh was born in 1889. He was the son of William Brown and Jennette McMillan. [1][2]

He married Edith Johnson (Conyes) in 1927. [3]

She had a daughter that he adopted, Pauline (Simonson) , 1917-2006.

Hugh passed away in 1976. [4]

Obituary

HUGH M. BROWN

Mr. Hugh M. Brown, 86, of Poplar Grove died at 4 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in Caledonia Township Dec 2, 1889, son of William H. and Nettie McMillan Brown and married the former Edith Brown Conyes in 1927 in Belvidere.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs Pauline Simonson, Falls Church, VA; a granddaughter, two great grandchildren and several cousins in the Caledonia area. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Young, Pastor of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Scottish Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight. [5]
