- Frances Brown Stafford, 77, wife of Charles Ellis Stafford, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John Allison and Elizabeth Gilbert Brown.
Mrs. Stafford was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She was retired from Riley & Company.
Survivors besides her husband include three sons, Charles Ellis Stafford Jr. of Lexington, Patrick Allison Stafford of Columbia and Stephen Francis Stafford of Sumter; five grandchildren, Caroline F. Stafford, Charles E. Stafford III, Allison R. Stafford, Margaret E. Stafford and Stephen F. Stafford Jr.
