George McDuffie Brown was born on Sept 20, 1820. He married Martha M Calhoun in Abbeville South Carolina on May 5, 1849, and died Nov 15, 1899, being buried at Bethel Cemetery in Cypress of Franklin County Texas. ^[1]

• Notes: Julius "Jules" Brown, Jr. was probably born in County Armagh, Ireland, between 1790 and 1800, perhaps the son of Julius Brown. He immigrated to America and settled first in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He later migrated to Abbeville District, South Carolina. He and his wife, Molly Buchanan, had several children. Their son, George McDuffie Brown (1820-1899), was born in Abbeville district. He married Martha Mariah Calhoun (1831-1895), daughter of John Ewing and Sarah Speed Calhoun, in 1849 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. ^[8]
