Arnoldus Buijs (1820 - 1889)

Biography

Arnoldus was a son of Arie Buijs and Herter van Empel. ^[1]

Arnoldus was first married om 9 April, 1857 at Heerewaarden to Janske Udo daughter of Jan Udo and Anthonia Vermeulen. ^[2] The children born to the couple were:

1. Janske (b. 1854; d. 1860) [uncertain]
2. Anthonij (b. 1858; d. 1859)

Janske died in 1858, a month after giving birth to son Anthonij.

Arnoldus was next married in 1860 to Jantje Ton, daughter of Dirk Ton and Neeske Vink. ^[3]. Children of this union include:

1. Neeske (b. 1861; m. Christiaan van Hoften; d. 1948)
2. Hester Adriana (b. 1863; m1. 1887, Johannes Hommersom; m2. 1893, Nelis Hendrikus van Stuijvenberg; d. 1933)
3. Arie Dirk (b. 1865; m. 1894, Neeltje van Leeuwen; d. 1933)
4. Dirkje Alida (b. 1868; m. 1897, Pieter Hartman)
5. Dirk Arie (b. 1875; m. 1898, Willemina Theodora van Ballegooijen)

In 1884 Arnoldus was once again left a widower and he did not remarry, dying in 1889. ^[4]
