Biography

Elihu was the oldest of the ten children of Peleg and Hannah Bunker. He was born in Peru Township, Clinton County, New York and died 26 December 1881 at age 74 in Morrow, Ohio. Elihu is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Cardington, Morrow, Ohio. ^[1]

Elihu Bunker and Elizabeth Heringdon were married on 24 November 1831 in Marion, Ohio. ^[2]

In 1850, the Bunker family lived in Cardington, Morrow, Ohio. The household included Elihu Bunker, 43, born in New York, an inn keeper, with $3500 in real estate; his wife Elizabeth, 43, born in New York; and their nine children, all born in Ohio: Ann, 20; Albert, 17; Peleg, 15; Harvey, 14; Lydia J., 12; Sanford, 11; Edwin, 9; Lindley, 5; and Ellen, 4.^[3]
