Biography

William Bunn was born about 1815 in Cradley, Worcestershire. He was the son of Joseph Bunn. [1]

He married Hannah Brettle/Brettell on 11 November 1839 at the church of St Thomas, Dudley, Worcestershire. [2] [1]

In 1841 William and Hannah were living with their 8 month old baby Eliza in Cradley Heath. William was employed as a forgeman. [3] The town of Cradley Heath (separate from Cradley itself) was known for its ironwork, especially nailmaking and chainmaking [4], so William was probably employed in one of these industries. At that time Cradley Heath was in the county of Staffordshire and was part of the parish of Rowley Regis.
