Biography
Altha was born in 1887, the daughter of Isaac Bunn and Hannah Bartran. She passed away in 1981 and was buried in Kendaia Cemetery. Her second husband was Clarence E. Gates.

Mrs. Altha B. Gates
KENDAIA – Mrs. Altha B. Gates, 93, of 421 S. Midler Ave., Syracuse, died Sunday at her home, She was a native of Kendaia.
There will be no service. Spring burial will be at the convenience of the family in Kendaia.
Arrangements are by the Fergerson Funeral Home, North Syracuse.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial fund, East Williams Street, Waterloo.
Mrs. Gates resided in Syracuse for the past several years. She was the widow of Thomas C. McWhorter and Clarence E. Gates. She was a former member of the Warner Van Ripe Post of the American legion Auxiliary in Waterloo and the National Grange in Kendaia.
Surviving are one son, Leon T. McWhorter; three stepchildren, Willis Gates and Frances Jolley, both of MacDougall, and Edith Brown of Alton, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
