• SUMTER - Eleanor Ruth "Tat" Burke Moses, 79, wife of Richard Phillips Moses,

died Thursday, October 15, 2009, at her home. Born in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late George Washington Burke and Mattie Amelia Geddings Burke. Mrs. Moses was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fa-HoLo Sunday school class. She was a graduate of the Tuomey Hospital School of Nursing. She was also a graduate of USC-Sumter where she received an associate degree in business. She was a sustaining member of the Sumter Junior Welfare League. She was a former administrator of Hopewell Nursing Home, a former administrator of National Healthcare of Sumter and was also a past "NHC Administrator of the Year". She was a former director of the Sub-acute Unit at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, and a former administrator of Solomon's Home. Tat was a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators and was also a member of the Forum. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was greatly devoted to her family and to those she served. Her family was always the joy of her life.
