Research Notes

  • Family Search names one child more precisely, and a child who died an infant:
  1. Paul Otway Burns (1850-1903), who appears to be the same person as Otway H Burns, named in the 1860 census
  2. Louis Parsley Burns (1855-1855)
  • His wife, known in most records as Martha Ann Armstrong, for whom a marriage record has not been located may be had a prior marriage, as she is shown as marrying Owen Burns 17 Nov 1849, in Baltimore City, Maryland. Unfortunately, no image of the record is available, and no parental information was available or transcribed:
    • Marriage - Possible Match: "Maryland Marriages, 1666-1970"

Owen Burns marriage to Martha Elizabeth Anthony on 17 Nov 1849 in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.
  • Some US Bureau of Land Management Tract Book entries on FamilySearch may apply to him, but these require corroborating, as do US General Index to Pension Files of 1866 and 1877.

I may have the marriage between the two sons who carried the name Owen conflated. Will double check.
