Alice was born in 1836. She is the daughter of Charles Burrard and Louisa Lushington. Alice was baptized 8 March 1836 at Lyndhurst. She is listed amongst her siblings and parents at Lyndhurst in the 1841 and 1851 census.
Alice married William Henry Lucas in 1858 in the New Forest district of Hampshire. In 1861 Wm H Lucas 39 born at Newport Pagnell in Bucks, was curate of Lyndhurst, living in Red House, Lyndhurst with Alice 25 born at Lyndhurst and children Mary E 7, Margaret Lucas 5 and Henry A Lucas 5, all three born at Witley in Surrey, son Charles B Lucas 1 born at Lyndhurst, a governess and four servants.
