Elmer News.

Many hearts were saddened here and at Hess by the almost sudden death of Mrs. Marvin Willimon of Hess who died Sunday night. Mrs. Willimon was apparently well up to Saturday morning when she was taken ill with appendicitis.

She was taken to the hospital in Altus Sunday night about 8 o'clock and was operated on, but the doctors held no hope of her recovery and she passed away about 12 o'clock that night.

Mrs. Williman, who was Mary Burris before she married, had lived most of her life in and near Elmer and Hess and had a host of loving friends who will miss her kind words and smiling face. She was a member of the Baptist church at this place and was a good christian woman.

She was thirty-four years old and left a husband and our little children to who she was a kind wife and a loving mother and her place in that home can never be filled. She also leaves an aged father and mother and several brothers and sister, to mourn her loss. Her many friends extend to the heart broken family their heart-felt sympathy in their hour of grief and sorrow.

The funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Monday at the Baptist church at this place. Services were conducted by Rev. A. F. Agee of the Baptist church at Martha. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The Elmer Rebekah lodge of which was was a member, conducted the services at the cemetery.
