Death
James died aged 46 and was buried in West Tarring 10 February 1826[2]. The probate record states: 'BURTENSHAW James. Effects under £20. 15 August. Administration of the effects of James Burtenshaw late of West Tarring in the County of Sussex Bricklayer who died 16 February 1826 at West Tarring was granted at the Principal Registry to Thomas Burtenshaw of Marine-place Worthing in the said County Shopkeeper the Son and one of the Next of kin [3]
