Notes

BOB BUSH, an anesthesiologist and prominent citizen of Palo Alto, Calif., lost a two year fight with cancer at his home on Mar. 18, 1992. He and his wife, Phebe, had moved there in 1950, a year after they were married.

Bob was born in Hartford, Conn., prepped at Loomis, and was graduated with honors in biology after having qualified for the "3Course Plan." He played in the band, joined Dial Lodge, and roomed with Johnny Bonsall, who was killed in 1944 at Barenton sur Seine. Bob's M.D. at Harvard came in 1944 and was followed by internship and residency in Connecticut hospitals, and then Army service in Neustadt, Germany, with our 12th Constabulary Squadron, in 1946 and 1947. In 1950 he joined a medical group called Associated Anesthesiologists, practicing at the Palo Alto Hospital and at Stanford Univ. Medical Center, where he also taught.

Bob Bush kept up membership in several local and national medical societies, and was active with the Boy Scouts, Babe Ruth League baseball, Sons of the American Revolution, and numerous genealogical societies.

In addition to his widow, Phebe Dickerson Bush, he is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert D., and Allen B.; a daughter Susan Bush Martin; a sister, Dorothy Curtis; and two grandchildren. We extend deep sympathy to all of them.
