Biography

Ebenezer was born in 1826, the son of Abram and Jemimah (Averill) Butterfield. He first married Hannan Hunt, in 1849; they had eight children together.

In 1860, Eben A. Butterfield, aged 34, and his wife, Hannah, aged 28, were living in Northfield, Summit, Ohio, with their children:^[1]

• Martha Butterfield 1

Hannah and the children were all born in Ohio.

In 1862 Eben enlisted in the Civil War, on 30 July 1862 in Co. G, 115th Ohio Infantry and was discharged at Covington, Kentucky, on 16 March 1863.

After Hannah's death (1886), Eben next married Persis Howe in 1893. She passed away in 1897, and Eben married Eleanor White in 1898

Eben passed away in 1902.
