OBITUARY

DIED, at the family residence, five miles south-west of Frankfort, on Monday, the 26th of October, Mrs. Jane Holmes , wife of Josephus Holmes, a well-known citizen of Clinton county. Mrs. Holmes, who's maiden name was Jane Buttry, was born in Kentucky and at the time of her death was about 60 years of age. With her husband she came to Clinton county about 17 years ago, where she has ever since resided. Since July, she has been afflicted with that dread disease, consumption. She was the mother of nine children, eight of whom, with her husband, survive her. She was a consistent member of the regular Baptist church, and died in that faith. Her funeral is held today at the Baptist church on the Thornton Road, Elders Shirley and John Kinder holding the services.
