Biography

Edwin Jessie was the son of Jesse Buttle and Eliza Buttle late Wray who had married on the 25th July 1825 at St. Alphege, Greenwich, Kent, England^[1].

On the 8th May 1847 Edwin Jesse married Matilda Tyler at St Peter & St Paul, Bromley, Kent, England^[2].

In 1853, Edwin Jesse was living at Church Street, Greenwich, Kent, England, when he testified at the trial of James and Catherine Taylor at the Old Bailey on the 9th May^[3]

In 1899, Edwin Jesse was living at 87 High Street, Deptford, Kent, England^[4].

Edwin Jesse died aged 73 years^[5] on the 12th December 1899^[5][4] at 87 High Street, Deptford, Kent, England^[5] and probate was granted on the 9th January 1900 at London to Frances Elizabeth Buttle, widow (step-mother). Effects: £443 14s 6d.^[4]
