Biography

Came to the United States with his parents at age seven. The family landed at Quebec, Canada. Then they went to New York and then Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. When still young, George went to Vernon, Ohio. Here he married Nancy Bliss. The couple moved to Bernadette, Illinois. They had four children: Annie E. Caley, Docie H. Caley, Stephen B. Caley, and Charles C. Caley. Nancy passed away 5 April 1864. In 1874 George remarried. His second wife was Helen Bevens. They moved to Cozad, Nebraska in 1882. Helen passed away and in 1894 he was married a third time. His third wife was Elizabeth Thompson.

Brother R.V.S. Caley (Farnam, Nebraska), Clark Caley (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), Mrs. Docie Herd (Mt Veron, Ohio), and Mrs. Sarah Cocklin (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) survived him.
