Biography
Fred C. Campbell was born May 18, 1920, in Mount Vernon to Fred Campbell and Lula Felzer.[1] Raised and educated in Anacortes[2], he graduated from Anacortes High School in 1940. He was captain of the school's football team during his senior year.
Mr. Campbell enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1941. He was an air mechanic specialist and cabinetmaker. Holding the rank of sergeant, he served in Central Europe and Africa. He was discharged in 1945 from Fort Lewis.[3] He married Patricia A. Philbrick in 1965.[4]
Mr. Campbell was a carpenter by trade and built his first home. His hobbies included fishing, boating and dancing.
He was a member of Mount Vernon Elks Lodge, Mount Vernon Moose Club, the Carpenters union and the American Legion.
Fred died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1992, in Lynnwood.[5][6]
