James Carnochan was born in Scotland.
James was born about 1724. He passed away in 1812 at the age of 88. James appears to be the son of Samuel Carnochen and Janet Gladderie. He was christened in Anwoth on 18 Jul 1728. [1]
James married Jean Black on 26 Apr 1759 in Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. [2]

James married Sarah Houston on 29 August 1771 in Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. [4]
He is buried in Anwoth Old Cemetery in Kircudbrightshire. His stone says that it was erected in his memory by his son Samuel. Also listed are his wife Sarah Houston, son Samuel, Samuel's wife Mary Halliday, and several grandchildren.
