Doris (Carpenter) Mudgett
Doris Rita Carpenter was born in 1899 in Manchester. She and Fred Mudgett were married on April 18, 1921, by the minister of the First Unitarian Society in Manchester. Their daughter Grace was born that December.
At the time of their marriage, Fred’s occupation was listed as “garage business,” and Doris was a clerk. Fred owned and operated Clark's Market in Manchester, NH, from about 1927 to about 1931. This was a market that catered to the upper class of Manchester. He later managed several A&P Markets in New Hampshire.
Fred and Doris had a second daughter, Elinor Louise, in the summer of 1929, but she lived only 2 months.
Doris died in October 1941, when she was 42 and Grace was 19. She is buried in Goffstown, NH.
