Little is known of Miss Jessie Carr Coleman outside of census information and mentions of her in the biographical information of her wealthy husband, George L. Coleman.
Jessie Carr was born in Missouri between 1884 and 1886, depending on which census you read. She may have been the daughter of Ben F. Carr and Mary E. Carr, both of Illinois; she may have had a sister, Jennie. This is based on her wedding witness "B. F. Carr".
By 1911 she had moved to Oklahoma, for it was there that she met and married the wealthy George L. Coleman who made his fortune in lead, zinc and silver. The following year she gave birth to George L. Coleman, known to be their only child and her greatest legacy.
Jessie survived her husband George, who died in 1945. Her date of death, location and place of burial is unknown.
