Jean was born about 1615, son of Antoine Carrier and Jeanne Charbonnel.
Jean made his will in July 1652, in which the following passage names his wife and three daughters: "et laisse à Alexandrée, Marguerite et Anthoinette Carrier ses filles et de ladite Gouttechaude sa femme". He made his will at Millery (which is about 3 miles from Irigny), because there was no notary at Irigny. He passed away after 1656.
