Biography
Mary Gallagher (Bridget's granddaughter remembered from family stories that Bridget was discovered in Sydney with her illegitimate daughter Florrie being harassed by a group of men & helped by John. John came to Sydney for a business trip from his property in Mudgee. John rescued Bridget (who originally hailed from Cooma NSW) & took her back to his property "Beaudesert" near Mudgee where he employed her as a housekeeper. They married a year or so later when John was about 54 years old & they had a further 8 children together. Mary confirmed Bridget sometimes called herself Kennedy (her mothers maiden name, possibly to mask the illegitimate situation with Florrie). Florrie was born in Sydney at the Benevolent Society & her fathers name is unknown at this stage.
