Thomas H Mitchell Owned land about 4 miles SE of what now is the Boonville Correctional Facility, in Boonville, Cooper County, Missouri.

The property he owed was south of Rocheport Road. The house was on a hilltop and when his wife Elizabeth Mitchell died in 1820 they followed common burial practices of the East and buried her on a hilltop to the east of the house. It was said they could look at the sunrise coming over her grave every morning.

The graveyard was restored by a descendant in 1980's. The stones recovered, plots mapped out and a fence and gate installed to protect it.
