Biography

Martha was born on 12 June 1824, the daughter of Jonathan and Rachel Catherall, and her birth was registered at Mount Zion Chapel together with her younger sisters Betty and Hannah in 1829 "3 daughters of Jonathan and Rachel Catherall of Ogden".^[1]

She married Jonathan Foster on 22 May 1848 at Bradford: Jonathan Foster, 40, bachelor, weaver, Thornton, father John Foster, comber. Martha Catherall, 26, spinster, comber, Thornton, father Jonathan Catherall, comber. He signed ,she marked, Witnesses were Mary Foster and Charles Hemsworth.^[2]
