Lily Cave (1881-1954) was born in Queensland (possibly 29 Mar 1881 in Blackwater - see comment in references).
She was the daughter of Frederick Cave and Sarah Adams.
Theirs was a large family and her father's earlier years in Australia are unclear but certainly by 1903 he was settled in Rockhampton on East Street and Lily is recorded with the family.
[1]
She married William Robert Picton in Queensland (likely Rockhampton) on the 6th June 1906.
[2]
He worked as a labourer, stockman and station manager and theirs was a fairly nomadic existence moving from station to station as work demanded.
After spending a short while at "Bimerah" near Isisford
[3]
they returned to Rockhampton to Nicholson Street briefly
[4]
before moving a couple more times during the next decade.
They spent over 10 years at Monte Christo on Curtis Island
[5]
before settling in Gladstone, Queensland firstly on Ann Street
[6]
and ultimately Bonar Street
[7]
which is where they lived when Lily died on the 25th June 1954.
[8]
She was buried in the cemetery there subsequently.
