Biography

Rebecca (Chafor) Maw was born in Lincolnshire, England.

Rebecca Chafor was born in 1869 in North Kelsey, Lincolnshire, England. She was the daughter of George Chafor and Mary Anne Rack, and was baptised on 29 August 1869 at St Nicholas in North Kelsey, Lincolnshire. ^[1] The family were living in North Kelsey and her father was a Labourer. ^{[2] [3]}

In 1871 she was living with her parents and siblings in North Kelsey, Lincolnshire, where her father was an agricultural labourer. ^[4] In 1881 the family had their own farm in Bottesford, Lincolnshire,^[5] and in 1891 they had a public house, the Derby & Joan, on the high Street in Crowle, Lincolnshire. Rebecca 21 was the Hotel Cook. ^{[6] [7]}

On 12 August 1891, Rebecca 22, married Richard Cornelius Maw 23, in Crowle, ^{[8] [9] [10]} and in 1901 they were living at Easingwold Farm, Crowle, where Richard was a Farmer, employing workers. ^[11] In 1911 they were at Mount Pleasant Farm in Swinefleet, Yorkshire, ^[12] and in 1921 they were at Crownland, Walsham Le Willows, in Suffolk. ^[13]

Rebecca likely died age 61 in 1931. The death was registered in 1931 in Norfolk, England.^[14]
