I tried a new strategy, searching for the children rather than the couple. Page by page, several books later... I found two additional children of Placido and Ana! This couple made their lives in el Escoplo, Peñuelas, Extremadura, Sotelo, la Huerta, and Silao. I dabbled at San Francisco del Rincon a bit, but their records aren't as legible as Santiago Apostol, also gaps in records. The challenge continues and I'm not giving up. Saludos.
Thank you for your comment and for posting the children.
I have been discussing with other teachers/genealogists I work with and San Miguel de Leon, besides Leon should also be considered. It also seems that during the 1790's and thereafter many for a time left the Silao area for Irapuato. We are guessing for some type of work. I don't have records for San Miguel de Leon nor Irapuato.
But before pursuing any of those, what do you have in the way of baptisms for Placido and Anna's children? The padrinos might give some clues as to where they might have lived before and who might be Placido's and Anna's relatives.
Hi Lee. The Chagolla line continues to expand and grow! I’m still searching for more evidence of this couple from my husband’s direct line, going through many Santiago Apostol books. Wondering if you could recommend another church’s records I might also look at. Is there another location I might consider?
It has been very exciting to see the Chagolla line grow. Thank you for all your work!! And to learn more about Pachuca and Rosales.
I checked Ciudad Manuel Doblado with the name variations but didn't find them, but my records there are very far from complete.
After some consult with other genealogists I work with, our consensus is that since Penuelas is between several churches and because there is only one child Pablo listed in Silao and from previous research we have done, San Francisco del Rincon would be our first choice, then Ciudad Manuel Doblado, then Leon.
I am also going to send you a message with another person I worked with who hasn't posted any of the huge amount of her info from San Francisco del Rincon on wikitree, hoping some day she will.
Thank you for your prompt response and suggestions. I look forward to hearing from the member you mentioned. WikiTree has been a great resource for me through members like yourself, who share and collaborate. I have multiple pages of handwritten notes on more Silao area individuals, including Pachucas/Chagollas and others, that I will be adding as I have time. Your help means so much to me and I’m amazed by how much you’ve added. Saludos!!
