Biography

Leona was born in 1872. She passed away in 1940. She was the daughter of Jean Francois Chevalier and Melanie Rollot. Leona married William Richmond Highfill on 24 December 1886 in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. ^{[1] [2]}

In 1900, she lived with her husband and her son in Washington Township, Morgan, Indiana. The household included James Turner, 53, a day laborer; his wife of six years, Leona Turner, 30, born in June 1869 in Kansas, who had had one child; and her son, Herman Highfill, b. July 1888 in Kansas, in school. ^[3]
