Biography

Richard was born in 1881. He was the son of Horace Child. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1906 and founded the Republican Progressive League in Massachusetts which was a forerunner to the Progressive Party. He was a correspondent during World War 1 which then morphed into a pro Ganda writer for the US Treasury. In 1916 he published a book and then in 1919 became editor of Collier's Weekly. He came to fame as a propaganda author who wrote for Warren G Harding's campaign and eventually became the ambassador to Italy as Mussolini came to power. He lobbied for support to Mussolini's government and was a supporter of Fascism. He passed away in 1935 due to pneumonia.
