Biography

John was born in 1870. He passed away in 1926. I never knew my grandfather John. He died when my father was about 14 years old. His death certificate states the cause of death as diabetes mellitus. He was the son of Major William Graves Child who served as a surgeon in the Civil War, 5th New Hampshire Regiment, Army of the United States, and was in the theater audience when Lincoln was assassinated.
