Biography

Carl was born on 13 March 1894 in Decherd, Franklin County, Tennessee.[1] He was the son of Walter and Mattie Chilton.[2]

According to his World War I draft registration card, he was of medium height and build and had blue eyes and brown hair.[3]

He married Pauline Tarkington on 11 October 1916 in Davidson County, Tennessee,[4][5] at the Immanuel Baptist Church.[6]

He worked as a railway mail clerk.[7]

Carl died on 11 December 1973.[8] He was buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee..[9]
