His parents were Thomas Christie and Mary Finlay.
In the 1861 census, David (age 1) was the son of Thomas Christie in Comielaw, Carnbee, Fife.[2]
In the 1871 census, David (age 11), Scholar, was the son of Thomas Christie in Birdport Cottage, Kilrenny, Fife.[3]
In the 1881 census, David (age 21), Farm Serv., was the head of household in E. Pitcorthie Bothy, Carnbee, Fife.[4]
In the 1891 census, David (age 30), Farm Servant, was the head of household in Pitcorthie Farm Cottage, Carnbee, Fife.[5]
In the 1901 census, David (age 41), Fraction Engine Driver, was the head of household at Balbuthie House, Kilconquhar, Fife.[6]
David married Sophie Imrie in Carnbee, Fife on 17 March 1882.[7]
Research Notes
This David did not marry Janet Donaldson. There is a marriage on Family Search for a David Christie to Janet Donaldson but the marriage took place in 1786.[8]
Death
David died on 17 November 1928 in Dundee City and his obituary was in the paper on the 20 November.[9]
He was buried in KIlconquhar Cemetery in Fife.[10]
