A victim of the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake
She was an account manager at Marac Finance. She was working on the second floor of the PGC building.
She was born and raised in the deep south and grew up on the family farm in Waikaia. When she lost her dad at the age of 14, Amanda became motivated and focused on achieving her goals.
She was head girl at Gore High School in 1998 and was named top sportsperson of the year twice in a row.
She represented the NZ Black Sticks gaining 40 international caps between 2001 and 2003, including the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, World Cup and Champions Trophy. She was nominated for World Junior Player of the Year.
She also represented Canterbury for 55 caps and played locally for Carlton Redcliffs.
