Biography

Antonina was born about 1800 ^[1] to Nicoló Cicio, a farmer, and Grazia Mauceri ^[2]. In 1821 at age 21, she married 25-year-old Francesco Artale ^[3], a field hand; he died within a year of their marriage.

At age 22 in 1823, she married 50-year-old Calogero Alfano ^[4]. He died within 10 years and she then married Giuseppe Napoli ^[5].

Antonina died in 1833 a little more than a month after this marriage, at age 33 ^[6].
