Biography
Nunzio Cina’, son of Giuseppe Cina’ and Giuseppa Contorno, marries Margherita Greco, daughter of Francesco Greco and Francesca Pitarresi, in Brancaccio, a district of the city of Palermo, on 26 January 1850.[1] The index entry for Margherita Greco gives the year of their marriage as 1856, after several of their children are born.[2]
Nunzio and Margherita have ten known children: Giuseppe (1851), two sons named Francesco (1851 and 1873), Giuseppa (1852), Francesca (1856), Angelo (1858), Angela (1860), Domenica (1864), Antonino (1866), and Filomena (1871), all born in Brancaccio, Palermo.
These births are from the ten-year index, which contains some errors. The first two births found for Nunzio and Margherita are less than two weeks apart:
Giuseppe is born 20 January 1851.[3]
The first son named Francesco is born 1 February 1851.[3] He is presumed to have died before his brother with the same name is born in 1873.
Giuseppa is born 6 July 1852.[3]
Francesca is born 26 February 1856.[4]
Angelo is born 19 March 1858. [4]
Angela is born 12 August 1860.[4]
Domenica is born 14 March 1864.[4]
Antonino is born 11 January 1866. [5]
Filomena is born 18 August 1871.[5]
Francesco is born 3 November 1873.[5] In his naturalization petition, Francesco reports his birth in Palermo on 29 November 1873.
Francesco marries Vincenza Verniglio by 1900.
Frank dies on 23 November 1932 at 643 Southern Blvd. in the Bronx. He is 59 (b. 1873). He is buried 26 November 1932 in Calvary Cemetery.[6]
