Vincent Circle 1845-1932 Vincent Circle was born February 28, 1845 in Scotland county, Missouri, the first of seven children born to Charles "William" Circle and Permelia (Watson) Circle. His six siblings include; Louisa Jane Circle - who died in childhood, John F. Circle, Charles William Circle, Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Circle) Backus, Caroline Lois "Carrie" (Circle) Kelly Higginson and George Adam Circle. Vincent married Mary Jane Backus on January 20, 1869 in Linn county, Oregon. She was the daughter of Gideon W. Backus and Mary Ann (Hardman) Backus. They became the parents to three daughters; Nellie M. Circle, Sylva (Circle) Heisler and Bessie J. (Circle) Temple. In 1880, the family lived at Beaver Creek, in Grant county, Oregon. By 1910, Vincent, his wife and daughter Nellie were living in The Dalles, Wasco county, Oregon, where Vincent was employed as a "capitalist" in the loan industry. After his wife passed away in 1917, Vincent moved to Portland, Multnomah county, Oregon and retired. He passed away December 27, 1932 in Marion county, Oregon and was laid to rest next to his wife, in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in The Dalles, Wasco county, Oregon.
