Note: Sion Clanton moved to Alexander County, Illinois where he apparently died befor 1840. His wife and daughter's names were Nancy. Daughter Nancy married James Daniel in 1827 in Alexander County.

Sion sued his wife, Nancy for divorce, in 1829 stating they were married "many years ago" and theshe had been living in adultry with William Daniel since Dec. 1827. William Daniel was the father of James Daniel who married Sion and Nancy's daughter.

Also a Charles Clanton's estate was probated there in 1831, James H. Rowland adm. Heirs were: Sion C. Clanton, Nancy Clanton, Barsheba Rowland alias Clanton, Jane Hargas alias Clanton, Nancy Daniels alias Clanton, Polly Hawes alias Clanton, John Clanton, Lucinda Clanton, Lewis Clanton, and Narcessy Clanton. I suspect that this was a sibling of those named, except for Nancy Clanton, who was probably his mother.
