Frederick Jacob Cleaver, son of William Nicholas Cleaver and Eleanor Reynolds, was born on 10 Feb 1866 at George Town, Tasmania.
Frederick (Bachelor, Full age, Labourer) married Margaret Sice (Spinster, age 19) married on 21 Jan 1888 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, Beaconsfield, Tasmania. Witnesses were William Cleaver and Kate Dally.
Frederick and Margaret had 15 children:
He died in 1947, aged 81 years, at Ulverstone General Hospital, Tasmania.

CLEAVER.-On February 27, at the General Hospital, Ulverstone, Frederick Jacob Cleaver, widower of the late Margaret Cleaver, and loving father of William, Lilian, Thomas, Estella, Victor, Edward, Jack and Joseph (dec.), in his 81st year.

CLEAVER.-The funeral of the late Frederick Jacob Cleaver is appointed to leave the General Hospital, Ulverstone, at 3 p.m., THIS DAY (Friday), for the General Cemetery. Friends are respectfully invited to attend. W. Hills, Ulverstone manager for Kneebone and Son, Funeral Directors.

MR F. J. CLEAVER
Mr. F. J. Cleaver, who died in the Ulverstone General Hospital on February 27, was born at George Town 81 years ago, and spent his boyhood at Beaconsfield. As a young man he was employed as night watchman by the Tasmanian Gold Mining Company. He married Margaret Sice, of Launceston, and later moved to the Magnet mine, where he was employed for 20 years until a breakdown in health caused him to retire. He then moved to Ulverstone, where he remained till the time of his death.
The funeral was largely attended. Adjutant Petch officiated at the graveside in the Ulverstone General Cemetery. The chief mourners were the sons, Messrs. William, Thomas and Jack Cleaver; daughters, Mesdames Foley (Melbourne) and S. Smith (Burnie); and a son-in-law, Mr. S. Smith. The carriers were Messrs. A. Wellard, L. Symes, W. Jones and W. Elson.
