Biography

Earnest Cocoris passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2019. He was born in Birmingham, AL to Gus and Anastasia Cocoris. Mr. Cocoris served in the United State Navy and later graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a Business Degree and had a distinguished career as an Investigator with the Federal Government. Mr. Cocoris enjoyed music, particularly Opera, cooking, sports, and in later years spending time with his grandson. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years Betty Cocoris. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth and his son John (Deborah); brothers, Harry, John (Helen), and George; grandchildren, Michael Cocoris and Cassie Gower; nieces, Stacy Craig, Connie Chwe, Joanna Hufham. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 11:30 am-1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Parlors located on University Blvd. Graveside to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
