John Coddington was the son of William Coddington and was baptized 15 January 1636 at St Peter at Arches Church, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.[1]He married Anne Stearne of Bracklin, County Meath on February 20, 1669. John was living in Dublin at the time.[2]
[3]John was involved in many cases in Chancery Court and in the Court of Exchequer. One particular case on February 10 1679 involved him and his brother Nicholas Coddington.[4]John Coddington's will was written on February 18, 1690. He was living in Clonerry, King's County, Ireland when he died. The will mentions his wife Ann and his son-in-law Dixie Coddington of Holmpatrick, County Dublin. Dixie was the son of Nicholas Coddington. His wife Ann Coddington was John Coddington's only child, so Dixie married his first cousin.[5]
