Biography
William Coleman, the son of Thomas Coleman and Mildred Richards was born about 1755. He passed away 29 Nov 1819 in Williamsburg, Williamsburg City, Virginia, United States and was buried at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church Cemetery in Williamsburg, Williamsburg City, Virginia, United States. [1]
William settled first in Petersburg, VA and then in Williamsburg. He was Sheriff of James City County in 1801 and Mayor of the City of Williamsburg in 1807.
He married Elizabeth Holt, daughter of William Holt and Mary Edloe on 22 Dec 1785 in Virginia. [2] She was born 4 May 1762 and died 8 Feb 1832. They had at least two children:
- Thomas Coleman (1788-1834)
- Elizabeth Coleman (1800-1850)
