He was the son of Edward Colver and Sarah Backus. He was born Dec 19 1698 in Lebanon, Connecticut and died Apr 9 1734 ^{[1] [2]}

In October 1742, Benjamin Boardman and his wife Deborah of Sharon petitioned the Hartford Assembly to sell land that Francis Colver had inherited from his father to help support him.^[7]
