Biography

Spencer Connor was a South Carolinian.

Spencer Connor was born on September 23, 1889, in Smoaks, Colleton, South Carolina, United States. He was the son of James Dawkins Connor and Eliza Pauline Stokes.^[1][2]

He graduated from Clemson College in 1912.^[3] He entered into civil service in Charleston, South Carolina in 1917. He went on to teach science at Ashville High School and eventually became business manager in 1931. He stayed in that job until his retirement in 1960.^[4]

He married Lenora Ackerman on August 31, 1916, at the home of the bride's parents in Cottageville, Colleton County, South Carolina. ^[5][6]

He died on January 21, 1972, at his home at 82 Arlington Street in Asheville, Buncombe, North Carolina, United States.^[7][8]
